RSA Moves to Highlight Ongoing Problem of Drink
The Road Safety Authority (RSA) has moved to address the problem as Irish roads are still plagued by the deaths of drivers over the drink-drive limit.
38% of Fatal Collisions to 2012 involved alcohol
An RSA Pre-Crash Report on Alcohol showed that between 2008 and 2012, alcohol was a factor in 38% of fatal collisions, claiming the lives of 286 people.
Around 13% of Irish drivers have admitted to drinking and driving in the last year, a recent survey revealed. In many cases people report that they had just one drink and felt they stayed below the legal limit. The number is still alarming, according to the AA.
Some of the new questions will focus on the subject of drink and driving.
